In the Mountains

Traveling
February 6, 2009 - 3:35 pm
Just out of Calgary. Had lunch in Red Deer at A&W (Gasoline Alley). Didn't realize I could have used Maps on iPhone until a bit ago. Would have saved some frustration. Almost out of battery.

Getting Lost And Fondue
February 7, 2009 - 11:29 am
This is about yesterday. We got a bit lost on the last bit but finally checked in ok. Once we settled in, we decided to go for food. We did fondue. It was over $40 a person and we got salad, cheese bread fondue, some meat we cooked in garlic butter on a hot stone and chocolate fruit fondue. I'm not sure the price was all that reasonable. Especially having to cook my own meat. And with my paranoia of cooking chicken and the stones losing heat for my beef (because I spent so long cooking the chicken) it wasn't too fun for me. I liked the house salad and loved the chocolate fondue. Not for that price, though. Ugh.

Downtown
February 7, 2009 - 3:18 pm
We had lunch at Subway, then walked around shopping. Met interesting folks, ate snacks, bought stuff and took pictures this early afternoon and now on the way to Lake Louise.

Rest Of Yesterday
February 8, 2009 - 1:50 pm
After driving about we went back to chill then looked for a sushi place but couldn't find it so tried another. It was crowded so we went to Tony Ramas and came back. We swam again like the night before.

Exploring
February 8, 2009 - 5:32 pm
We went to have sushi and then went to a candy store for jelly beans. Then we went to the Fairmont at Lake Louis and explored. Yay!

I Am A Salt Lick
February 8, 2009 - 6:23 pm
I totally just got licked by a deer.

Last Night
February 09, 2009 - 10:51 am
Let me back track to before the awesome deer licking experience. We went to see a movie and then went to Earl's where I thought the waitress was speaking French, but turns out she has a somewhat heavy Australian accent. Yummmmy steak and this awesome veggie mix of squashes, beets and sweet potato. Also had good mashed potatoes.

Chilling Walking Deer
February 09, 2009 - 11:03 am
On the way out this morning, I saw a deer just casually walking along a sidewalk looking about with not much care in the world. Awesome. This is the coolest place ever. Well, it's not home, but for awhile I wasn't homesick.

February 09, 2009 - 11:15 am
I see an old friend. He's larger than life, yet never says a word.

Om Nom Nom
February 09, 2009 - 1:11 pm
We stopped in Calgary for lunch at Peters'. It was a lovely day. Almost Spring-like if it weren't for the biting wind.

Back to Reality
February 09, 2009 - 4:08 pm
Back home to Winter and it's snow.
